Why can't I use Sync without enabling third pary cookies?

Why must I enable third party cookies to use SYNC? I keep them turned off to 'Never' so I don't get a bunch of junk cookies from people or companies that I don't want on my computer. With my settings most websites ask to set a cookie and I can accept or reject them. Is SYNC linked to a bunch of advertising junk? I have no problem signing on to other websites including banks. Please modify SYNC to NOT use third party cookies.

Yes, this requires third party cookies on, it's for maintaining state throughout the login process. ^ allowing just corel's mentioned domain should do the trick.

Thank you.

Does Firefox Sync only work with third party cookies enabled ? It would be interesting to know why that is.

You at least need to allow cookies for the accounts.firefox.com domain.

Yes the suggestion from cor-el worked. This solution should be stated in the original error message instead of telling the user to unblock ALL third party cookies. Just a suggestion. I am leery of letting just any third party place cookies on my machine. Thanks for the help.
