We have customers that use Citrix published apps instead of Citrix Published Desktop. Everything was working fine. Previewing a file was done in Firefox and downloading a file would open it in Adobe Acrobat. Since the january update (we are allways at the latest version) files are only downloaded but not opened in Acrobat when I use FireFox as a published APP. In IE everything works fine. When I do the same in a published desktop for this customer without altering the settings everything is working fine. I tried resetting the application settings but to no avail. This customer is the only customer reporting this issue.

Did their Applications under about:preferences get altered? Resetting didn't fix that?

Try having them change the open with for PDFs in that section to "Adobe Acrobat" manually and see if that resolves it maybe?

I'm having a similar problem, but Citrix is not involved. January would be about the right time this all started.

After the January update I did have to reset some of the PDF selections (very annoying -- Firefox should never change these settings on its own), so I know and have verified that all five PDF documents settings are set to open in Acrobat Reader. I keep both Firefox and Acrobat Reader fully updated automatically, which I also just verified.

If Acrobat Reader is not already open on my computer then trying to open a PDF document generates an error message (of the "unable to open" variety) but does open Reader.

Once Reader is open PDF documents are downloaded but not opened and I have to click on the Download Manager to get them to actually open. This is regardless of what website I'm getting the document from; it happens in my webmail reader, it happens in my payroll processing program, it happens when I try to download an IRS document from their library -- everywhere. I haven't succesfully opened a document directly in weeks.

Same here. Clicking on a webpage pdf link in Firefox brings up the dialogue to open or save (normal), although "open" returns a message "There was an error opening this document. The file is already open or in use by another application." NOT SO!

Same for me. I am trying to open the pdf with Adobe and not possible. Firefox continues to open with Google Drive the pdf on line. Annoying.
