Hi,

Im trying to stream a video from a website but it's just loading forever? I tried the same links on my android with FF and they are working. Do I need to install some additional codec or something?

Make sure you have packages like FFmpeg installed so you can fully support HTML5 players as most sites do not use the Flash Player Plugin from Adobe anymore as Adobe is ending all support of their Flash Player at end of 2020.

Patent and copyright restrictions are among reasons why many Linux distros do not come with packages such as FFmpeg in a new install. It provides codecs needed to fully support HTML5 players being used for video, audio and even games now instead of using the Flash Plugin.

Thanks James,

I have updated it but still have the same problem.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

Still nothing, I have disabled enhanced tracking protection and ad blockers. Also firewall.
