My computer gets wireless. It's working fine as i'm submitting this via internet explorer. Ive had mozilla for a while and update it and all and all of sudden I keep getting this error Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at en-us.start3.mozilla.com.

   * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
         moments.
   * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
         connection.
   * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

But it worked fine earlier that day and all of a sudden didn't. Nonetheless, I still checked proxy and firewall stuff, even though they had been fine before the program stopped workign and i looked them up. The firewall is off, and the proxy settings on internet explorer dont have anything checked off under LAN, but there does say an 80 in the Port, but its shaded in gray and not checked off...I changed firefox to automatically configure proxy and that didnt work either. I then deleted all firefox from my computer, emptied the recycle bin, etc, redownloaded it and I'm still getting the same error message. I'm not very computer savvy but I've never had this problem before and its not something like the internet and redownloading didnt even work so I'm really out of things to try. [I can't even try to live-chat for help option because the box/image/whatever it is won't load on internet explorer] If anyone has any ideas for a solution I would be entirnely greatful. Thanks so much!

I have the same problem, i could add that in my case IE is working fine but google chrome has also stopped. I suspect it's a windows issue but I've no idea where to start to find a setting that might be stopping non microsoft browsers.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
