On Yahoo Finance, stocks don't automatically update
For example on this web page for apple stock https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/aapl?ltr=1
The stock price should constantly update if during market hrs. Other prices such as Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq do It works fine on all other browsers I've tried Anyone have an answer to this?

someone must have an idea
That page is updating for me. Do you use any ad blocking or anti-tracking add-ons that might be affecting the page? Such extensions often have a button to make an exception for the current site so you can test whether that makes a difference (probably you need to reload the page - Ctrl+r - after doing that).

Thanks for the reply The page does update except for the actual stock price. On Explorer, it works fine. I've started firefox in safe mode, but still no dice
Hmm, it could be a little hard to track down. It seems the page requests numerous files every several seconds, and I can't figure out which ones relate to what prices, or whether they are for ads, etc.
Do you use private windows? If there is a "shield" icon to the left of the address bar, please see this article about Firefox's built-in tracking protection feature: What happened to Tracking Protection?.
no shield
My only other thought is "the usual," which you might already have tried:
When you have a problem with one particular site, especially if it previously worked normally, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Clear Firefox's Cache
See: How to clear the Firefox cache
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.
(2) Remove your Yahoo cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
- right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button
In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually. Some cookies used by finance.yahoo.com may be set on the base domain yahoo.com.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
that did it, thanks
