What is your home page set to? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page
My home page is set to Lycos Mail. I did notice something this morning. If I open a new Firefox window the internet seems to work okay, or maybe because it's a weekend. Anyway, if I open Firefox using Restore Previous Session as I always do, for years, that's seems to be when Firefox freezes and cannot open any websites. Does this make sense and does it help? Thank you, Randy
How large is the session you are restoring?
9 windows. may sound like a lot (my wife thinks so anyway), but I've done this for years. Only recently I've had a problem.
So what are the exact steps you take? Do you have Firefox set to open my tabs/windows from last time, or are you restoring from about:sessionrestore?
After you open Firefox and have the restored session, what happens?
Okay, I click on Firefox and My Lycos Mail page opens. Then I click on Firefox again and open the drop down window, go to history, click on restore previous session. Then the rest of the windows would open up. What is happening now is they open, but the little circle on each window just keeps going around and the window doesn't open or in another words I cannot interact with the window. Everything just stops working and the circles keep going around. I also just noticed when I went to click on Firefox for the drop down window to confirm my steps for you, the Firefox button isn't there. It was there this morning. What is there is File, Edit, View, History...basically what is there is what used to be in the drop down box. Thank you, Randy
The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 255 to a setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.
