The back button is broken. On the nytimes.com especially. Must hit multiple times to go back one page. For months now. Chrome no problem on same site.

As stated: The back button is broken. On the nytimes.com especially. Must hit multiple times to go back one page. For months now. Chrome no problem on same site. This is FF 31.0 on Windows 7. This is nearly the final straw for me. I'm now using Chrome instead more than half the time because it doesn't have this problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Note that you can hold down the left mouse button on the Back or Forward button to open the tab history and select an entry.
