What security or addons do you have installed?
Malwarebytes Security and adblock.
I suspect adblock is causing this. Did you disable adblock and try again. I do recall Google drive has popup confirmations and if those get blocked as ads then it will not work. But until you disable and try again to confirm if this is or isn't the issue.
