For the first time I hate Firefox! Important time-saving feature removed (4.0)
For the first time I hate Firefox (4.0).
They removed the feature for the user to jump back multiple pages at once. I use this MANY MANY times a day and now I have to go back one page at a time until I get back to where I want to go. IF I have to go back (say) 10 pages or so it takes forever and I have to wait for the page to show to see if that is the one I wanted or have to go back further. This is a HUGE waste of time.
IF Firefox does not restore this feature soon I will have no choice but to find another browser that has this feature. I cannot and will not waste my time with a browser that doesn't have this important feature.
Also, 4.0 is regularly crashing (much more than before).

It is still there. You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker
Thank you for your (very quick) reply. Got the add-on and now it is restored. And thank you for the resolution of the problem. I have always used Firefox from the start (and Netscape before that).
After getting the add-on, I was taken to a web page about it that stated: "The "Recent pages" dropdown next to the combined back/forward button was removed in Bug 582485, with no real reason given beyond "Chrome and IE9 do this too"."
So what if IE and Chrome removed it from their browsers. Firefox is a superior browser and should NOT be following IE or Chrome, they should be leading them.
Finally, the button is sorely needed for another very important reason. Many times when going back one page at a time users encounter a message stating that if they go back to the previous page that it will re-do something that occurred on that page, such as charging a credit card twice. There needs to be a way to "jump over" that page and go back without causing problems.
Please, Firefox, restore this button in everyone's browser as a default. Having the button is much faster than the alternatives stated in this wonderful user's reply, holding it down until the list appears. With the one button it appears right after pressing it.
Thank you again.
