How to recover lost history? I know I didn't delete it and I am using Sync.
So one day I start my browser and noticed that something looks odd. My regularly visited sites are asking for passwords and when I type search-ahead URL, they're not returning the website links. I then realized that I am missing my history data.
Not sure how this happened but I am trying to figure out if it is possible to recover lost history? I have a feeling that my only bet is to look up my Sync but I don't see a reasonable place to recover anything from Sync settings (it only shows me how much space I have used).

It could be that you are using and old Profile. I will recommend you to read this article: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles and figure out if you have multiple profiles while you are running the wrong one.
If that doesn't help, the other option is to look for older data in your computer. Take a look to this article: Recover important data from an old profile It's pretty extensive but it gives you several paths for a possible solution.
The one that is hardly a solution is Sync. Sync is not a back up service, it allows you to have all your devices synchronized. In this case, it seems that the data that you have synchronized lacks of passwords and history. In any case, make sure that in the Sync tab (the one that you are looking at for the Sync settings) you have selected to sync all the items you want (i.e. History, Passwords, etc).
Let me know if this helps.
Hi, I'm sorry you're having this problem with Firefox. If you go to History and view all History, is everything missing?
If so, you might be helped by the following article that describes how History info is stored in your profile and how to copy over the files that contain your history to a new profile if you need to do so:
