After the most recent Firefox update Firefox would hang up when trying to access my history. Today when I tried to access my past history and downloads all of the old history (yesterday, past seven days and older than a month) and downloads were gone. How can I restore my history and downloads?

I am running Firefox version 48.0.2 and Wiindows 7.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Places Maintenance {web link} Allows to run Maintenance tasks on the database that drives Places, the bookmarks and history module behind Firefox.

Open the Add-ons Manager. Locate the add-on and press the Options button. Then follow the directions.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?
