Every time I start Firefox the developer pane is active in the bottom of the window. I have to close it. But it reappears everytime I open a new tab.

Is there a way to turn it off when not needed? Or is it active all of the time?

Hi   !

Firefox has an in-built developer toolbar which can be brought up with the keyboard shortcut Shift + F2. Just a stab in the dark, but maybe your F2 key is hanging   .....

If that's not it :

Type in the address bar   about:config   (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : devtools.toolbar.enabled and set it's value to   false

Any luck   ?

Note that the System Details list shows that you have Firebug 2.0.19. Maybe you should check its settings to see if you have enabled this feature.

Note that Firebug is no longer maintained.
