I get this crash message every day on the same website. Some days I get it more than once. Today I have received it three times in the last hour. This is an important site. It is the website of the largest circulation newspaper in my state. I check it every single day for statewide news. Why cannot Mozilla fix this problem that has been ongoing for many months? Please stop telling me that you can help, and actually fix it.

1. So no one is aware of this issue. 2. I can't check this page due to region restrictions. This page is configured to block access from my country. 3. Those IDs are not submitted yet to Mozilla server.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

I don't know why you would say no one knows about this issue. I have always submitted crash reports. I am diligent. I have probably submitted over a hundred in the past year. What annoys me is the message saying, we can help.

Here is a screen shot of the crash message, showing that the crash report is sent. This the same every time.

When I right click a crash report from the list of crash reports. I get the following message. "You're seeing this page because the crash report you selected was held back from submission. For statistical purposes, we don't need every crash report and sometimes we decline the submission of a crash report as a form of throttling." Why should all my crash reports be throttled? When I try to resubmit a crash report it is unsuccessful! Does this have anything to do with why Netflix will not stream on the Firefox browser? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1232481

Hi there. I had no problem with the link.

Crash reports are sent to the Mozilla servers for the programmers to look over. We don't get anything, so if someone wants us to look it over, we need the report numbers that were submitted.

Some reports are not sent because there are already many of the same reports already filed (Simple answer).

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Can you explain this throttling? I take the trouble to submit all these crash reports, and none of them are ever submitted. I assume Mozilla does not even know that my browser ever crashes. What good is wasting my time on crash reports?

Hi, i had the same problem as you until a day ago. Try diabling hardware acceleration. You can do this by clicking on the menu bar, going into "Preferences" and then, in the search bar, by simply typing "hardware acceleration". There will be a box that says "Use hardware acceleration when available". Untick this. I also uninstalled Adobe at the same time so not sure which one solved the problem. To uninstall Adobe copy and paste this link into your search bar: https://helpx.adobe.com/au/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html#OS_X_10_4_and_later . I hope this solves your problems.

Fred McD. It appears that Mozilla is refusing to accept any of my crash reports. Can you please assist me? How can I report the crash problem to Mozilla?

more options

Did you try Firefox in Safe Mode?

more options

No I didn't, but I don't understand. What does safe mode have to do with crash reports being throttled?

more options

It doesn't. I want to see if there is still a problem.

Your response was short and cryptic. Let me see if I understand what you are asking. I have not experienced a crash now for three days. So you want me to boot up Firefox in safe mode and use it continually in safe mode for several days waiting to see if there is a crash? Is that right? Then you want me to try to submit a crash report to see if the crash report will be throttled by Mozilla in safe mode. Do I correctly understand what you are asking? If so then my answer is no. I do not want to put myself through that arduous multiday process. It is not worth it.

You had not said that. If it is still not crashing your problem may be gone.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-".

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page.

  • click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

Alternatively you can open about:crashes via the location/address bar.

If a line on the about:crashes page doesn't start with "bp-" then you can click the line to submit the report and the link will be updated and gets a "bp-" prefix if the report is submitted successfully.

  • please do not add the "bp-" prefix yourself

cor-el, Thanks for stepping in. Your post is answered by the first several posts in this thread. https://bangordailynews.com/ has finally stopped crashing in the last few days. The issue now is not the crashes, but the complete throttling of crash reports. What use are the crash messages, if no reports are allowed to be submitted.
