When I click Mozilla FireFox, Bing immediately takes over the WHOLE page. No FireFox. Just Bing, useless piece of rubbish. No Tabs. No Tools or anything else. I uninstalled Bing. 7 times. Didn't work. Please help.

Please do the following.

  1. In the location bar where you normally type in a web address, type about:config and hit Enter.

  2. In the filter at the top, type: keyword.URL

  3. Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q= and then click OK.

  4. Close the tab

The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.

To reset your home page, do the following.

  • Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.

  • Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | General.

  • Make sure it says "Show My Homepage" in the first dropdown menu.

  • Click the button called "Use Current Pages" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.

Thank you. This is a nightmare. There is NO location bar, only the Bing search bar in the middle of the page. There is NO possibility of typing anything on this page, except the Bing search/url you are looking for. Therefore, none of the other instructions you give can be implemented.

I am a seasoned user. I have done everything I possibly can to get rid of this rubbish, including the usual remove browser elements. NOTHING works. Can you try to help me again?

I forgot to emphasize; there is NO location bar, no down arrow, no back arrow. Nothing. Only the Bing stuff like MSN Hotmail Preferences (naturally, remove or delete or uninstall is not a preference).

Please do the following.

  1. Right click a blank part of the Tab bar and choose "Customize" from the menu.

  2. Click the button called "Restore Default Set" in the panel which opens, then click Done.

If that doesn't work, do the following.

  1. Press the ALT key to display the text links.

  2. Click Help | "Restart with Add-ons disabled".

  3. In the menu which appears, checkmark "Reset Toolbars and Controls"

  4. Click the button at the bottom called "Make changes and restart".

P.S. Are you seeing Firefox full screen perhaps? Hit F11 if you are.

Thank you. I now have a location bar, which is great! But Bing still takes up whole page.
