Hackers got me last year. Now, they track me & block me every time I change my info or ISP. How do I stop them?
AOL will not let me cancel my old account. They removed all my security after insisting I stay and warning me that if I cancelled, my Life Lock would be invalid and that I would immediately be fair game for everyone. I got new account at yahoo and new McAfee security. When I needed McAfee's help, one agent said they could stop the problems and hacking if I talked to another agent and paid $178.00 each year. I refused. I stupidly wrote about it on yahoo and now they are blocking my access to this account so I cannot use this email either and my McAfee programs insist that I am not on line, so they cant help me or update my subscription. Now what do I do? Please help me. I just refreshed mozilla firefox as the new 37 something version was not working very well and kept crashing.

Hi Patak,
I would recommend you upgrade to Windows 7/8. You can either purchase a license and install it on you current computer, or you can just purchase a new PC. If you do decide to upgrade your current computer I would recommend you do a clean install rather than an upgrade.
Make sure to backup any files you want to keep, as this will wipe your entire computer.
Once you get that done, I would recommend you install a security suite: http://www.bitdefender.com/ https://ca.norton.com/norton-security-antivirus http://www.kaspersky.com/
Then I would either create a new email account or change your password to one you have never used before.
Alternatively, if you are not willing or able to upgrade you can try and clean out your current PC, however no malware scanner is 100% effective. Given the extent of your issues, I would really consider a fresh install.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Hi. I was unable to even open my email until a few mins. ago. I had to open history and manually delete everything from day one. When I checked my recent activity on email, it showed someone from Chicago, Ill. was using it. I live in Missouri. The pointer icon would flicker and I was unable to use anything. It was even spreading out to anything on the web so Im happy to know how to kill it again next time...esp. since it showed that photos were being continuously uploaded! I will certainly try some of your suggestions now that I can read them. Thank you so very much for your kindness and your help. God bless you. I will let you know if the problem comes back or if your suggestions prevent the return of them. Thanks, everyone, just for caring!
I recommend you find another e-mail provider.Once it is set up, you inform who you want of the new box. Then contact the other providers and tell them to cancel the account.

You demand from them a reason for this action.

Change the password.
Patak, we would also be happy to further investigate the crashes in Firefox if they continue after the malware investigation. Instructions on how to share the crash reports are below: please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
