Anyone got a way to get PW to work again? Mozilla guys should be working on this.
I have 3 emails managed by Thunderbird, but my main one ignores the PW and does not allow access to change PW. Jus t won't Authenticate

The Mozilla software asks for me to enter a new Password, but does not provide a way to do it, or to confirm the new PW..Something basically wrong with this software. Mozilla please FIX this!
No on responded yet! Where is Mozilla on this problem?

When you post a question, it is really helpful if you include some information. Please provide answers to the following to help understand your set up.
What OS are you using?
Is it a POP or IMAP mail account ?
You mention 'main one'. What are the server settings you are currently using for that account? If you look under 'Help > Troubleshooting Information, there is a 'Mail and News Account' section. Copy all that section and paste info into this forum and tell us the account number which has the problem.
Are you able to log on to your webmail account via a browser using the current password? This would prove whether the current password is getting you access to emails on server.
You do not create 'New Passwords' in Thunderbird. This is and has always been done via your webmail account. If you do not know the password then use the 'Forgotten Password' link to gain access to webmail account. Then you can change your password.
Once you have changed the password in the webmail account, logout, wait a few minutes and then retry logging back onto the webmail account using the new password. Once this is working OK, then you need to update Thunderbird.
Assuming Windows OS (so tell me if different OS)
- 'Menu app icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > Security' > 'Paswords' tab
- click on 'Saved Passwords' button
- click on 'Show Passwords' button
There will be two lines for incoming and outgoing (smtp) for the account. So you need to change both.
- right click on each line and select 'Edit Password'
- Completely remove old password and carefully type in the new one making sure there are no typos; remember passwords are case sensitive.
- click on 'Close'
Then exit and restart Thunderbird.
