Adblock Plus "permenantly" changed the appearance of many websites. How do I recover the "normal" appearance?
Adblock Plus has "permenantly" changed the appearance of many websites (e.g. google.com). I would illustrate this but I can't find how to add jpgs to this question.
I have cleared the Firefox cashe, removed Adblock Plus, reloaded Firefox (v12). Nothing seems to help. The newly installed Firefox "remembers" the same corrupted appearance of websites.
How do I recover the "normal" appearance for websites.

If you read the article Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should, and follow all the steps, does it help? You can add a screenshot by clicking the "Add Images:" at the bottom of this page.

Tylerdowner,
Thank you for your help. While the article "Websites look wrong" didn't solve the problem, following some of the links in that article DID solve the problem. I wound up restarting in safe mode, then checking the entry having to do with resetting Firefox preferences.
Adblock Plus really fouled up my Firefox, version 12. I had never used Adblock Plus, or any other ad blocker before. I'm not sure if I used it correctly.
I typically have 20 to 30 tabs open. The cumulative ads consume a lot of cpu time which heats up the processors by 5 - 10 degrees C, which shortens their life. But what really drove me nuts were the audio ads that started at random times. Grrr!
Do you have any thoughts on this ad problem (thread drift).
Thank you for your help getting me back to normal.

I actually do use Adblock Plus on all my computers, and I've never had the problem you described. I would suggest trying to install it again, Use Easylist, and disable the "Allow non-instrusive advertising). If you can't get it to work still, try going to adblockplus.org, and using the forums to ask for support.
