Is there a setting in Firefox that supplies the approximate geographic location to Google news and similar web sites? Can I adjust this parameter and if so, how? I do the 'change location' and 'save' in google news but it seems to 'forget' this setting every time I exit firefox

  • Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

Do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Yes, ultimately if it is in a cookie then it does get cleared on exit.
