Error message, app can't run on this pc, shows 3x, then the program runs fine, after I click close 3x Version 34

Every time I open up FireFox, after the latest update, I get the error message "This app cannot run on this PC...." I have to click "close" three times and then it opens and runs fine. It's annoying to have to do this every time I open the program now. It seems to run just fine after I do this. And I've been using FireFox for many many years now. Just the last update seemed to cause this. Version 34

Are you running any programs in a older version of Windows? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../older-programs-compatible-version-windows looks like you can turn this off: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../program-compatibility-assistant-faq#1TC=windows-8

You can check the home page setting and possibly use about:blank.

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
