It's not that I want to - I just have to manipulate my contacts between Gmail, Thunderbird and Outlook 2013. So, I have tried to import my Outlook 2013 addressbook into Tbird and I am unable to do so. Is there any trick I can accomplish this nightmarish task? When I tried exporting addressbook from Outlook as csv, and tried to import it into Tbird, a window opened in Tbird saying I must set Outlook as main email program. So I did. But that did not change anything - after restart it was all the same. Why the hell does it have to be so difficult, dammit.

Did you try to import from outlook or from .csv ? Inj address book / tools / import . mark address book. choose Textfile (Do NOT choose Outlook) change to where you stored the .csv .file change displayed types from LDIF to .csv open your file and rearrange your .csv-data fields to correspond with TB's

Next and you should see your first entrance

If its ok go for it
