When I Bookmark a page, I got to Bookmarks Menu/Choose/New Folder......as soon as "New Folder" shows, it closes and retains the name "New Folder" without allowing me time to name it. I have to go back to Bookmarks tab/Show All Bookmarks, and delete all of the New Folder folders created, go back and try it again. If I'm really quick, I can get one letter in before the option closes so I end up with a folder titled "r"......go back to Show All Bookmarks and rename "r" folder to the name I want. EXTREMELY time consuming and annoying.....this doesn't happen on my Win7 Desktop version, only my new Win10 Laptop. Please help!!

Please update to 59.0.2 https://support.mozilla.org/en/kb/update-firefox-latest-version

Are the bookmarks and Profile the same on each computer ?

As the easiest way would be to copy your Profile out of the other system and stick it in this one with the problems. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data copy to USB then make a copy of corrupt profile then insert Profile with same Folder name. ( I think) Or it is a matter of deconstructing your profile folder. Create a new profile as a TEST to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thank you! I did update Firefox from 51 to 52. I'm using a new laptop so it's a new profile with new bookmarks. The update didn't change anything. I wonder if I should reinstall Firefox, but I'd hate to lose my bookmarks. Instead of using Bookmarks Menu, I tried a new folder in Bookmarks Other.....same thing, it closes as New Folder before I can name it. Ugh. Any other suggestions?

My bad on the version! I was at 59.0.1 and updated to 59.0.2. I was trying to figure out how, after copying the Profile folder to a USB, how to replace the original and was getting confused......then I got your message re "sync".....good grief! I had forgotten I did try to sync but didn't think it worked. I followed instructions to delete the sync and the Bookmarks "new folder" problem has been SOLVED! You are a genius! Thank you EVER SO MUCH!
