Time for Mozilla to update their 4 year old guide to Adding Search Engines?

Long holding the desired Search Engine's search space does nothing. Perhaps this worked 4 years ago.

I'd like to try Qwant as default Search Engine. And add some more Search Engines.

Please help.

Hi eddygg,

this is possible only in new Firefox Preview for Android. See Firefox Preview on Android: Create custom Search engines.

Old Firefox won't have any new features added.

TyDraniu - Thank you for the response.

Just to make sure I understand correctly - for FF Android there is no way to add additional default Search Engines which will be able to Search from the Address Bar entries?

The only way to do it is to switch to Firefox Preview which I assume is a Beta Android version of FF?

Thank you.

That's correct.

Thank you for the response .

So using the current FF browser one cannot add default search engines which will search from address bar inputs?

It's necessary to use FF Preview which I assume is a Beta Android replacement?

Hi

TyDraniu is right in saying that Firefox Preview is new and improved (and is still being worked on).

You can add Qwant to Firefox for Android by opening the Firefox for Android menu, selecting Settings and then Search. For me, Qwant is an option you can select, but if it is not there for you, visit the Qwant webpage and select the magnifier icon to add it to Firefox.

I hope this helps.
