Using firefox 3.6.3 with adobe flashplayer-10.0 installed based on the instructions like Firefox installed in /home/user/firefox Downloaded the flash player plugin ( adobe ) and executed sudo cp libflashplayer.co /home/user/firefox/plugins Restarted the firefox. Go to mail.yahoo.com and go to inbox - mail list view. Now the browser crashes.

Hello Sunil.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Your plugins list shows two Flash plugins: 

# Shockwave Flash 10.0 r42
# Shockwave Flash 9.0 r999

Remove them both and install the latest Flash player version (10.0 r45) See Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems and Install the Flash plugin to view videos, animations and games
