Every time I log on to the Amazon.com website it disconnects the internet and I have to re-establish the connection. It only does this with this website. All the other websites I visit are ok. I can however get on the Amazon website through Windows Explorer with no problem. Since I like Firefox and this is the only browser I use - I don't want to have to go back to Explorer just for that site. I use that site quite often. Please advise as to how I can get Amazon on Firefox without it disconnecting me. Thank you very much.

I have the same problem. Firefox does not crash, the internet connection just stops working. If I leave Amazon, it rights itself again within a couple of minutes. It also happens on a few minor blogs I read, which was never a big deal, but having Amazon kill my connection now is getting to be a problem!

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_crashes and Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) .......... If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then it might help if you post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports. You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, just like you open a website.

Further Googling suggests it is a router problem, not a Firefox problem. Hope that helps anyone else in this mess!

This is not correct. The problem is not with the router but with Firefox. If you don't believe me, try using Chrome or IE. I'm sure they will not get disconnected.

I'm having this problem for many months but mozilla just keeps denying it or blaming it on extensions.

I agree with Kauskik. I ditched IE8 for Firefox and never had a problem. I also have Google Chrome installed and now have to use this to access Amazon.

Having sent several automatic reports and searched the web to resolve this problem without any luck. I have now discovered that it is to do with the Flash Player Plug-in. I have now resolved the problem in the follwoing way:

1. Right click on any Flash Video. 2. Select 'Global Settings' 3. Select Settings Storage Panel 4. Select the tab 'Website Storage Settings' 5. Select 'g-ecx.images-amazon.com 6. Delete Website using the button provided. 7. I then rebooted my computer but am not sure this is necessary.

strange, i guess this is sort-of related: i can't use amazon with internet explorer anymore, only works with firefox now. no solution yet, amazon says the issue must be with ie.
