Thank you for your help.

In order to get Firefox to start on my computer, I have to open the program multiple times (killing the process in between tries).

To troubleshoot why this is occurring I backed up my settings, created a new profile, and transferred my settings to the new profile incrementally. I figured out that the problem occurs once I transfer my bookmarks to the new profile.

I'm wondering why this is the case and how I can amend this situation without getting rid of all of my bookmarks. I have a lot of them and they are organized into folders, so it would be impossible to recreate what I have.

How did you move the bookmarks?

Did you move places.sqlite or did you restore from a JSON backup?
If you haven't done the latter then you can give that a try to see if it works.

I used MozBackup.

Bumping...

I should mention that the problem isn't created by transferring the bookmarks. Instead, by transferring my settings incrementally (including bookmarks) I was able to identify that my bookmarks are causing the problem (before and after transferring. The incremental transfer simply allowed me to identify the root of the problem.

If you used MozBackup to restore the bookmarks then I assume that the file places.sqlite is causing the problem.
You can try to restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup.
