I don't want to syncronize. I would only like to download NEW emails to my account.

I'm kind of lost with Thunderbird. I used to use it a long time ago and now I've set it up for my mom who has a hotmail account.

Unfortunately it keeps re-downloading all messages over and over again. I just need it to download the inbox NEW messages, that's it. NO constant re-downloading.

She doesn't want the emails to be deleted from the server (because if anything crashes she's got them there), just to download the NEW messages, not spend endless hours re-synching everything and re-downloading.

I basically looked for a "don't syncronize" option but cannot find it.

Can this be done in TB?

Thank you.

Sync is associated with IMAP email. It is an email standard and not a Thunderbird thing. Maybe you need to learn the difference between IMAP and POP email.
