how do you install an old Java version in Firefox?

Firefox will not allow me to install an older Java version in ADD-ONS, any help would be very much appreciated

Why do you want an old version? Firefox automatically blocks anything on its banned list, including old versions.

Make sure your Java (Not JavaScript) is up to date Verify Java and Find Out-of-Date Versions {web link}
