Every time I start Firefox (46.0.1 - Mozilla Firefoox Yahoo! edition - 1.46), a separate tab opens up that tells my Yahoo toolbar has been installed, and I have manually 'x' out of it and close the tab. Getting really annoying. I've tried uninstall/re-install the toolbar, Firefox, updating (no updates avail.), refreshing the toolbar and FF, disabling the toolbar....keeps happening. I use FF because I like the toolbar, but it is getting really annoying. I've had the toolbar for years, so it just started randomly telling me that 'Congrats, the toolbar has installed'.... Anyone else having this issue?

You can check the home page setting.

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files":

You will have to approve the updating one last time.
