I can't update adobe shockwave plugin in firefox. It says "update now". When I click "update now" it takes to a page which says "Flash Player Plugin 22.0.0.211 to 23.0.0.185 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection." What should I do?. The shockwave plugin was last updated on September 17, 2016. Somebody please answer if you know what to do.

this does not work. I have reinstalled flash 3 times and it still says it is out of date and still crashes

OK, completely uninstall Flash from your PC, then with Firefox closed, reinstall using another browser - such as Edge.
