re-installed it on new laptop but didnt get any of my emails prior to 04/13! why?
I had to re-install Thunderbird email on new laptop as old one died! I have been able to get it to work, but it's only updating emails from April 13th, 2017 to today... Nothing prior to 04/13.... I am trying to locate all my previous emails and folders, but don't know how to go about it!!! I am desperate, as the missing info is so important and critical to several projects i'm responsible for and now i'm lost without access to it, so please help :( Thank you so much :)

What has been the account type on the old computer - POP or IMAP?
What is the account type on the new computer?
Do you have a backup of your Thunderbird profile from the old computer?
HELLO,
the account type hasn't changed as it's still the same - POP
I am with Bell Canada and also have access to my mail via their website, so when i was speaking with the Bell tech on the phone earlier, he had me enter the same Bell email password to get Thunderbird started, and since Bell mail had only emails from 04/13, it copied it directly and that's why i didn't get any previous mail history nor folders.
And NO, i don't have any backup profile from the old computer.
QUESTION: By setting up a higher type of password in Thunderbird, like managerial of some sorts, wouldn't that overide my previous ones, in the hopes allowing me access to the missing info?!
Thank you much
The default behavior with POP is to remove messages from the server when they are opened with an email client like Thunderbird. For whatever reason messages dating back to 04/13 were still on the server, and have been picked up by the new Thunderbird installation. When there are no older messages on the server, there's nothing else your new Thunderbird installation can retrieve. Older messages were picked up by Thunderbird on the old computer, downloaded to your old computer, and presumably removed from the server. With a backup of the Thunderbird profile on the old computer you could have easily restored those messages.
By setting up a higher type of password in Thunderbird
You don't set up passwords in Thunderbird. You set up a password for your email provider's server, and you may tell Thunderbird to remember that password, so that you won't need to type it every time you start Thunderbird.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'a higher type of password'. You're the one setting up the password on the server, and there is only one password. For any questions about 'managerial of some sorts' you'd need to talk to your email provider. Note, neither Thunderbird nor Mozilla are an email provider.
For the future make sure to create backups of your Thunderbird profile on a regular basis. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile
