Hello,

I have received an email that says:

    • Update Firefox to the latest version

By default, Firefox is set to automatically update itself but you can always do a manual update. Here's how:

On the menu bar click the Firefox menu and select About Firefox.
The About Firefox window will open. Firefox will begin checking for updates and downloading them automatically.
When the updates are ready to be installed, click Restart to update Firefox. **

For me it doesn't work like this: I go to the menu, then I touch to my email then preferences and then I see the version, is it normal to work like this?? Also I am supposed to have Firefox Quantum but there's no written Quantum as on the email displayed.

Any I dea what's going on?

Thank you

Hi, to address the last point first: Firefox "Quantum" refers to Firefox 57 and higher. So Firefox 58 is Firefox "Quantum". It's a marketing thing.

Next:

The Firefox menu only appears on the menu bar, next to the apple, when a Firefox window is active. So to use

Firefox > About Firefox

you need to first make your home page or another page active.

Does that help?

Now... If you clicked the green button to expand the window, I wonder if that is affecting your ability to access the system menu bar? As a Windows person, these things are sometimes mysterious to me...

Thank you , Yeah that was effective, your solution was really helpful. It depends on how you have learned with Windows and as now I am using a Macbook , some things seem to be different.
