I clicked on a link to a domain that has clearly expired and got redirected to a porn site. I'd like to remove this from my browsing history so my children don't accidentally come across it. How do I do this? I used to be able to just highlight the item in History>Show all History>Library and press delete but this doesn't work any more. I then followed the instructions to Click-control forget this site (as at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/delete-browsing-search-download-history-firefox#w_remove-a-single-website-from-your-history) but that didn't work either. Anyone any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't have a right click, just a normal mouse.

Does Ctrl+click with a one-button mouse to emulate the right-click work on your version of MacOS X? On Mac there should also be a long press setting for the left mouse button to open the context menu.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be careful. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.

Hi, I can control-click and get the "forget about this site" but when I click "forget" nothing happens. I can't alter either the name or the url either, in the box at the bottom - I'm sure that was possible in the past. And I've also tried "clear all history" in the history menu - that doesn't work either! I can't clear my history (not for the past hour or the past 4 hours) either! And yes, sorry, MacOS 14.5, Firefox 131.0.3.
