websites such as eBay and Facebook. All I have are links...no images and it just doesn't look right. I have Firefox4 and IE9. It was working fine until about 2wks ago. Could it be a problem with my internet connection? It does it on my desktop & laptop...

Both eBay and Facebook split their content between multiple domains (e.g., ebay.com and ebaystatic.com, facebook.com and fbcdn.net). Make sure any filtering software (e.g., Blue Coat K9 or your security suite) allows both the main site and the site that hosts other elements used on the pages. Or if you have blocked "third party images" you need to make exceptions for those sites.

How do I check that?

I'm too new to Windows 7 to know whether there is one convenient place to look for all the potential web filtering programs. Often such programs will place an icon in the "notification area" of the task bar, down by the clock. Popular brands include Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro, Webroot, Kaspersky, AVG, and others. Any luck?

By the way, did the sites work in IE8 before you installed IE9?

I don't use IE at all and this problem is very annoying as FB works on my phone but not on my laptop. the screen does not even load properly and has no pics or real content so even if you click on something it doesn't load or go to the next screen. please help

I tried this from Firefox help pages and it seems to work:

Old version cached

Firefox caches websites, which means it saves some files on your machine so that it doesn't have to re-download everything when you visit sites. If a website has updated their code, Firefox may still be using some of the old code along with some of the new, which can make a web page display incorrectly. To fix this, you need to clear the cache:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options
   Select the Advanced panel.
   Click on the Network tab
   Click Clear Now
Click OK to close the Options window .

Now that your cache is cleared, visit the website again(and hit reload) to see if the problem is solved.
