When working on a project I will typically have a number of tabs open to specific web sites. I would like to save this entire set of tabs as a session and reload that session at will. The "restore previous session" feature comes so close. Is there a way to use the saved session profile to accomplish the above?

You can save those set of tabs as your home pages and have Firefox open with your home pages.

  1. Open up the tabs that you want, then open the Preferences dialog
  2. Go to the General tab of the preferences dialog
  3. Click "Use Current Pages" to set the tabs as home pages
  4. Change the option "When Firefox starts" to ""Show my home page"

You can also do this by using the Session Manager add-on which allows you to save multiple sessions - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/session-manager/

Thanks, that works. I also discovered the world of plugins, and have installed SessionManager, which does exactly what I need.
