Firefox 5.0 opens multiple blank windows
Normally I have 4 Firefox windows open, each with multiple tabs. When I start Firefox and ask it to restore a previous session, it restores these 4 windows but also starts 12 or more additional blank windows. I then have to close each of these additional windows manually. This occurs if I start Firefox immediately after rebooting, if I simply exit Firefox and restart it, or in Firefox's safe mode.
How can I prevent Firefox from opening these additional windows?

Firefox does not open additional tabs. It opens additional (unwanted) blank windows.
Did you tryout the second link and use the settings as mentioned in the section Restore the Default Home page ??

This still gave the same problem.
Is there a file that specifies Firefox's startup windows which I can manually edit to remove the unwanted blank windows?
