lost ability to open new tab after tonight's update
I'm using Firefox 19, it got updated automatically tonight, and I've lost the + sign that allows me open a new tab. If I restart with add-ons disable, it returns but if I disable (in normal mode) add-ons individually to isolate the add-on causing the problem, the + doesn't return, even with all add-ons disabled. I'm sick of having to re-download FF every time there's an update.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Sometimes the file that stores toolbar customizations becomes corrupted. To restore the default layout, you can rename the file. Then you can customize from scratch.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Switch back to Firefox and Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old
Restart Firefox. Hopefully the + button is back?
I'm not sure why you have to keep re-downloading Firefox after each update. Normally the program files update pretty flawlessly. Hmmm...

Thanks guys. The reset on customise toolbars seem to do the trick.
