When accessing a website, I see (bottom left hand corner of Firefox) many other sites piling on and while they are loading I cannot navigate around the partially loaded website I was trying to originally access. Until all of the other sites have loaded I am stuck.. Various Google sites, Facebook sites, and what I assume to be sites that collect data on what I am looking at on the site appear to be what is loading, they go by so fast it is hard to read all the URLs but it sure is a pain having to wait for them to load. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What you want is Adblock Plus. Or ublock if you prefer. Either will block ads and trackers, which might somewhat speed up page loading times.

Appreciate the suggestion and I tried it but it still does not stop google and some of the others from loading...if they didn't go by so fast I could write down the URLs and try to get more of an idea of who they are. A few months ago on a tech program on the TV someone ran a program that showed graphically like a star real time showing all the different URLs loading with your requested URL in the middle. It was astonishing all the sites that were loading. Again thanks for the suggestion.

Well it should block all those if well configured.

uBlock might be easier to use out-of-the-box.

If you use ABP, turn on the "Disable Tracking" feature on the page that is shown once right after installation. You should also click the ABP icon and choose Filter Preferences from the menu and uncheck "Allow non-intrusive advertising".
