Every tutorial for Thunderbird passwords says under tools select options or security. I have neither options or security on my tools tab. How do I change a password if there is no way to access the password manager?

OK, so are you not using Windows?

"Tools|Options" refers to the old fashioned menu across the top, on Windows. On a Mac or Linux computer, it is found under "Edit|Preferences" in that same menu.

If you're using the new menu with the three bar icon, it will be found under "Preferences".

Apparently some articles contained Windows-only instructions for the Account Settings dialog, so thank you for reporting. Some edits have been made to modify this - review will be required to make them live. For the Security entries however, I did not find any wrong ones so I’d like to know which one(s) you referred to.

Of course, feel free to check and report any article that still needs changes.

If your issue is resolved, could you mark the post above as a solution?
