I need to close options and reopen to see any new cookies, can this be fixed?

I used to keep an options tab open that I could go to and delete all or some of the cookies that would build up as I opened new tabs. In (60.0) I need to close and reopen option every time I open a new tab or visit a new page to see any new cookies - it's tedious. So is having to go through three clicks to 'clear all' (clear all + yes, clear all + save changes). Thank you for any help...

You can also open the 'classic' Cookie Manager via the "Tools -> Page Info -> Security" window.

  • click the Control Center 'i' icon at the left end of the location/address bar
  • click the arrow to expand the security message
  • click "More Information" to open "Tools -> Page Info"
  • click "Security" to inspect and modify cookies and passwords and inspect the certificate in a standalone window
  • click "View Cookies" in "Tools -> Page Info -> Security" to inspect the cookies for the domain in the currently selected tab

The "Site Data" displayed in the dialog is only re-read when you load or reload the Options page. If you have

about:preferences#privacy

open, you can tap the F5 key or press Ctrl+r to reload it.

So is having to go through three clicks to 'clear all' (clear all + yes, clear all + save changes).

For clearing everything, does the "Clear Data" dialog work any more conveniently? Or maybe you always want to see what you're about to clear, in which case, that won't work for you.

For a limited time only (this is going to be removed in a future version), you can open this classic cookie view dialog as its own tab. You'll need to copy this internal address and then paste to the address bar and press Enter to load it:

chrome://browser/content/preferences/cookies.xul

That's only cookies, and doesn't clear other kinds of data sites may store. Bookmark it and use it while it lasts.

Maybe someone will create an add-on to replace it.

Thank you! I havn't tried the .xul yet but ctrl + r is somewhat helpful.

'Clear all' is okay except when I'm opening email links in tabs and want keep my email cookies for a little longer.

Thank you again.

Thank you very much! It's just what I needed.

You're welcome.

Note that this classic Cookie Manager window will be gone in Firefox 61. In Firefox 61+ you get a window that shows the data from this specific domain similar to Manage Data when using the search bar but this window doesn't have the search bar and you can't select what domains to clear.
