MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 FF 99.0.1 Have tried clearing Cache, Cookies, Troubleshoot mode.

Google Maps > Search > Share > Embed a Map, the map to be embedded is not displayed (likewise when embed is pasted into Wordpress page, for example)

While same procedure in Safari or Brave works as expected (map to be embedded is displayed in Google maps and embed code displays map in webpage using Brave or Safari).

From the Google Maps page > share > Embed a map > right click This Frame > Open in new tab And then looking in the Console. There are a few other ignored errors but then this...

Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?client=google-maps-embed&paint_origin=&libraries=geometry,search&v=3.exp&language=en&region=us&callback=onApiLoad”.

My bad... I just discovered that I'd created a Little Snitch rule that blocked Firefox's access to googleapis.com Sorry! Hope at least this someday helps someone else. And thanks for your help!!

Does it work if you open the frame in a new tab ? Did you check the Web Console for possible related messages?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.

The map won't display in the frame > new tab. The console error message that seems most relevant in that tab (others are being ignored) is...

Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?client=google-maps-embed&paint_origin=&libraries=geometry,search&v=3.exp&language=en_US&region=us&callback=onApiLoad”.

Enhanced Tracking Protection is OFF for this site. Padlock is gray, says Connection is secure. I have Addons set to update automatically and previously booted in Troubleshooting mode. uBlock Origin is Off for this site (Google).

Thanks!

Just to confirm same behavior in FF 100.0 (Troubleshoot mode). Is anyone else able to confirm they ARE seeing a map image in the... Google Maps > Santa Monica Pier (for example) > Share > Embed a map iframe?

This is really frustrating. Now with FF 100.0.2 Google maps not loading on any sites including Google. All add-ons have been disabled by safe mode.

No problems here to load the Google map, either via a direct URL or via an iframe or open the embed in a new tab.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
