Dragon NaturallySpeaking Just Stopped working in Thunderbird
I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking extensively. I've been using it successfully in Thunderbird for years now.
Suddenly today, nothing I dictate in Dragon is being recognized or typed in in Thunderbird. Dragon is working just fine here in my browser, and every place else. So I suspect the issue may not be with Dragon, but instead with Thunderbird. I applied the Universal Computer Fix of rebooting my computer, but that hasn't helped.
Is it possible something in the latest Thunderbird update has broken my ability to use Dragon?
How can I fix this?

Go to Extensions and check if Dragon remains enabled.
Thanks, TyDraniu, but there isn't a Dragon extension for Thunderbird. AFAIK there never has been.
I searched or a Dragon extension from within Thunderbird and nothing came up. Dragon works everywhere else with no extension, including Notepad, Firefox, Word, Excel, etc.
I strongly suspect something broke in the latest Thunderbird update.
The Dragon Professional Web Extension was blocked in July due to violation of policies they agreed to in order to host extensions at AMO. https://extensionworkshop.com/documentation/publish/add-on-policies/ https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/blocked-addon/dgnria_pro.firefox@nuance.com/1.40.0.5/

The Dragon extensions help with navigational issues in a program, but even without an extension or add-on, it still works for plain text dictation.
My Dragon is working perfectly for plain dictation in Firefox. But it wasn't working at all in Thunderbird. For some reason, it seems to be working again in Thunderbird, so you may close this ticket.
Thanks,. Bill
