I find the lack of a chrome cast add on for Firefox Mozilla to be really annoying. This question was raised over a year ago - surely you have something available now? After years of favoring Mozilla this polite refusal to respond to users requests is very off putting guys. Wake up.

From your wording, I get the feeling that you think Mozilla creates all the add-ons, and that the people answering questions here are Mozilla employees. Both are incorrect. Anyone can create an add-on, and submit it to the add-ons website (or offer it on their own website), and the people answering questions here are fellow users like you. Mozilla is very much community-driven.

I did some digging, and found out that this feature was implemented in Firefox, but disabled. The way it was being done was causing firewalls to block Firefox.

You can re-enable it.

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Search for the preference browser.casting.enabled
  4. Double-click on it to set the value to true

You may need to restart Firefox.
