3.6.6 crashes repeatedly and the report goes to Apple not to Mozilla so I don't have a crash ID.

I upgraded to 3.6.4 and it kept crashing so I reverted to 3.6.3. It was fine for a day or two and then also started crashing, sometimes on opening, sometimes on whatever page I navigated to first. Now I upgraded to 3.6.6 -- same problem. The crash reports are going to Apple, not to Mozilla, so I don't have a crash ID. I'd love to report it to Mozilla but don't know how. The Apple report refers to a kern protection failure.

Same here with os 10.6.3 - only opens the browser window in safe mode and even then it crashes straight away.

Same problem here with 3.6.6. Firefox crashes all the time. Moreover, history/cookies/etc are not cleared automatically anymore after I close Firefox.

I posted before.. pretty desperate to have firefox working as I use firebug. I've tried Firefox versions 3.6.6, 3.6.4 and 3.5.5 - all of them are crashing immediately on startup, even in safe mode. Here is my last crash id (which went to apple I believe): Crash ID: bp-b9adb719-a97a-4302-a4d1-55bea2100211

I posted a reply earlier, I thought, but it didn't show up, so here it is again. Mozilla crash reports doesn't show most of the crashes from the past few days. Now it's finally showing one from today. The ID is bp-6865c5e6-1e65-4640-a1c3-0683a2100628 However, the report says that I'm running OS 10.6.3 which is incorrect (it's 10.6.4) and Firefox version 3.6.3, also incorrect. Yesterday I downloaded and installed 3.6.6 and the installer .dmg says 3.6.6 but everything I can check (About Mozilla Firefox, clicking control I for info via the Mac OS, etc.) actually says 3.6.4 which I also don't understand.

Is there a fix to this problem yet?

I run OS X 10.6.4.

Wow. Lots of complaints about the crashes (I just returned from one!!!) But not a single solution. What gives?

I just re-activated Safari. I hope someone from Mozilla is actually reading these messages and doing something. I'm really tired of the crashes.

I'm not counting on it at this point. A clean reinstall of 3.6.6 seems to be working, although periodically it hangs when i'm going to a new page after visiting several before it. I've been using Safari and Chrome as backups, but it's a pain.

Mine is Windows 7 x64. Deleted profile, uninstalled/installed from scratch firefox 3.6.6. No extra plugins, only Adobe Reader 9.3.3. Crashes 100% time on xmarks login. Also, on many other sites. Tried on my Vista 32 VMWare VM and it works just fine.

Basically, FF 3.6.6 freezes, and then after 30-40 sec it just fries my PC! Safe Mode doesn't help at all too!

Same was with 3.6.4. I have Norton 360 4.0 by Comcast. Disabled it temporary to no avail!

Chrome and IE 8 work just fine.

Also, FF always shows up to 90% progress and then freezes. Often, doing Google search, freezes after I CTRL+Clickon on the selected link.

Never had experienced something severe and persistent as this during entire FF lifespan!

Thanks in advance!

The upgrade (3.6.6) is crashing like crazy on my Mac laptop (with the latest OS) but on my WinXP machine 3.6.6 has been rock solid and is a huge improvement.

Add me to the list of those whose new version 3.6.6 keeps crashing. Furthermore, I don't understand how to install an older version. Guess I'll go back to Safari!!!! Please let me know if and when you find a fix.

Weeks of TRASH = FIREFOX 3.66

All three of my computers have been totally worthless since I upgraded to FF3.66. Each are built/configured differently. Each has a different OS. Each has all the above problems. Crashes constantly, RAM & CPU usage on a Q9650 is always near 100%. After screwing around for days I finally came here and found out that I was among a very large and upset group of users. With the last few upgrade I've had minor problems with my selection of add-ons Firefox disabled them for a later fix. I found a new DL today, 3.67 so I installed it figuring the problem was addressed. After installation of 3.67 it still says it's 3.66??

I went to their site to find help from them and couldn't get anyplace until I came here and read about my problem. Thanks for giving me a clear head so I could find a good solution.

My solution was to remove all Mozilla/Firefox products and then install other browsing options. It felt funny because for the first time in years I had to use Microsoft Internet Explorer to find other options. My computer is problem free and fast as usual now.

I wonder how many other users have abandoned them due to this BS?? I for one will probably stick with my new choices now.
