The bookmarks library page gets scrambled. A video is worth a thousand words: youtube video I've disabled all my plugins and extensions and that did not fix the issue. I deleted the places.sqlite file, which forced a re-build from the backup upon restart of FF. That did not fix the issue either. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Does this still happen with hardware acceleration disabled or with the default theme if you use a custom theme?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thanks for the tip! I did a 'restart with add-ons disabled' and that solved the problem. There was no need to change the theme back to default or disable hardware acceleration. What was puzzling was that after starting normally, then disabling all the add-ons did not solve the problem.

About 3 years ago I remember modifying the userChrome.css file to give me bigger font sizes in the menus as well as the bookmark sidebar. So I decided to change those back to 10 point font size and that solved the problem!

Apparently, the bookmark library page gets scrambled because of the larger than normal font size.

Here is the text of the userChrome.css which I changed back:

/*

* Some possible accessibility enhancements:
*/

/*

* Make all the default font sizes 20 pt:
*
* * {
*   font-size: 10pt !important
* }
*/

/*

* Make menu items in particular 15 pt instead of the default size:
*
* menupopup > * {
*   font-size: 10pt !important
* }
*/
