Hi! In FF on mac the maximise button used to do just that, now it takes FF into full screen mode. Besides dragging the window manually, is there still a way to maximise the screen without is going into full screen mode?

There should be, are you click on the green plus sign on the top left of the window or the top right corner when you maximize?

There isn't a green plus sign or a maximize at the top right in FF33 - at top left there is "close x", "minimise -", and "maximise"

That is a change in OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and Apple has replaced the colored buttons by those new three buttons (close, minimize, full screen).

Apple - OS X Yosemite - Design: http://www.apple.com/osx/design/

Not only have we streamlined their look, but we’ve also updated their functions. Close, minimize, and maximize are now close, minimize, and full screen, eliminating the extra full‑screen control and consolidating the window controls in one place.

I had gathered that, so am I to assume that the answer to my original question is no; "Is there still a way to maximise the screen without it going into full screen mode?"

Double clicking opens a new tab, it does not maximize. This is VERY annoying, why should I be forced to hold option before clicking maximize? This over complicates things. Please fix the double click of the title bar to maximize instead of creating a new tab.
