I'm going to call for help from somebody who lives in the   UK   and is actually allowed to watch Channel 4  online   (yes; I'm angry about that   ! ) It might take a while, though   (I'm not sure when he'll be online)

Hi Happy112 & ozlemmc, OK I live in the UK and should at least be able to test this out. It could take me a while to respond to some of these posts, bump the thread by posting a reminder post if I go more than 3 days without replying. Maybe a bit more info would help.

  • Can you give a link to an actual clip we can try to test out ?
Please try to choose a recent one that has a 20+ days before expiry.
  • You say it you can no longer view in full screen. Does it View ok but only in a small player ?
  • Is it all Channel 4 clips or only some that are affected ?
  • I presume you are talking about using this on your Windows 10 computer with Firefox, can you confirm that please ?
  • What happens if you try using Internet Explorer ?
Does that have the same issue ? If so it is probably not a Firefox issue.
  • I have not even tried looking at any videos yet but have you tried the F11 option ?
Pressing the Keyboard F11 key will toggle Firefox's full screen mode. Does that at least work to move the tabs & navigation bar out of the way ?
    • What is the usual method that worked previously for you to switch from the small version to the full screen player, and back again, was it some particular key board shortcut or clicking a button on the player - do you still see such a button? has it stopped working ?

There was mention higher up in this thread about accessibility link or problems but it seems from the reply that is not part of the issue.

If it's the  Channel4   I think you're talking about:
www.channel4.com/accessibility/playerguide/
www.channel4.com/4viewers/contact-us/

I don't use JAWS, NVDA or DRAGON. Also I already contact 4OD and they couldn't help and asked me to contact Mozilla.

Works for me. Screenshot attached of button used to use full screen. (The thumbnail expands when clicked - I assume that works for you and you see the larger image of my screenshot ok)

I presume the image will attach it is a 240KB .png but it is not showing in preview yet, but I will go ahead and post

Are you saying yo are able to stream the Channel 4 content yourself now on Windows 10 ?

I Know you have issues with new fangled features like Trackpads but the F11 button will still be a F11 button that Windows 10 recognises. It should still work for you in Firefox to toggle full screen mode:

  • Use Firefox in Full Screen mode
  • Have you tried that does it in fact work if you try it ?
    • If not then what happens if you try the Menu {3 bar icon)-> [Full Screen]{icon) does that work ok for you ?

F11 probably has a similar fullscreen function with other programs try the Command Prompt accessory for instance, F11 will toggle fullscreen on that. Your device a Yoga or whatever presumably has a reduce screen brightness function on the F11 key. Guessing that is what the icon { ☼ - } means. That will likely need a key combination Fn+F11 try that does it dim the screen? (And probably bring up icons or controls temporarily on the screen) You probably have a few other similar icons and key combinations you have not yet tried out.

My   'streaming'- remark was just a guess   (as it's a broadcasting company).

It would surprise me if your keyboard F11 key always changes the screen brightness unless you press it in combination with the Control key. Equally I would be surprised if F11 in Firefox does not go full screen.

When I press   ☼ -   (just that key; no Ctrl): it dims the screen;
When I press   ☼ +   (just that key; no Ctrl): it brightens the screen.
If   F11   in Firefox would go full screen:   the neighbours would here me scream.

To   'ozlemmc' :
We must be boring you to death;   this has hardly anything to do with your problem, does it   ?
I sure hope that pressing the   F11 - key works for you and that this is the solution you've been waiting for   !   (?)

Hi. I am afraid F11 does not work for me on 4oD:-((

Channel 4 wouldn't let met watch any video   ........   till just now   (and I'm pretty sure that I haven't moved to the UK overnight). I disabled AdblockPlus; enabled Adobe Flash;   everything works as it's supposed to work:   clicked the full screen button   (which I didn't see the days before),   and it worked just fine. Makes me think that Channel 4 fixed whatever it was that needed fixing   (?)
How are things over at your end;   still no full screen   ?

I note you previously had problems because of your blockers, and because of your zoom settings. Your previous posts are:

Note there is a continuous cat & mouse war between ads, ad blockers, and anti-adblocker methods, so something that works at one time may not continue to work

I presume you are in the UK but I am not sure you have stated that. Being in the UK certainly affects what can be seen & the content on the BBC site. Channel 4 is not licence funded so probably not as restrictive as the BBC but say for copyright or cost reasons may offer differing content outside of the UK <-- That is speculation on my part I did not try to research that.

I don't think Channel 4 changed anything but you disabling AdblockPlus and enabling Adobe Flash must have resolved the issue for you. In my case I do not have AdblockPlus and Adobe Flash is already enabled and still no change. Rgrds

Enabled ABP again:   makes no difference, for I can still get full screen.
I'm baffled and out of ideas   (so sorry   )

Hi. I live in the UK. The problem with the screen zoom was there when I still had this issue with C4. It was a hardware issue which was then resolved. However ad blocker issue was there b4 this one and it must have been resolved as I was able to watch programmes all along. I tried watching 4oD in explorer but still cannot enlarge the screen. I also watch ITV programmes in full screen with no issues.

That apparently used

With F11 I can remove the Firefox toolbars at the top.

  • Clicking its fulscreen icon I can get fullscreeen

Happy Try F11 with the button Fn maybe your laptop has the reverse keybindings of other laptops.

ozlemmc Using the same example as happy gave and I give the link to do you actually see the full screen icon in the lower right corner of the player ?

I am not going to register to watch Ch4 but the full screen icon does work for me.

You are saying IE has a similar problem. As Happy says that indicates it is not a Firefox issue. Others do not have the problem, and CH4 say it is not a problem. That points to some global software you are using possibly addblockers or security software that is able to affect both Firefox and IE.
