Try downloading a version here https://www.mozilla.de/ and or maybe more information for you there also. ____________________________________________________________________ You can check the order of the installed Languages.
Firefox > Preferences > Content > Languages
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Some sites automatically redirect you to a site in the local language, based on where your IP locates you.
There is usually a link on such websites choose a language or go to an international version that allows to choose the language.
Such a choice is stored in a cookie on your computer, so you need to keep (allow) this Google cookie. ... If the Google page is in the wrong language then see:

By default, Google sniffs your internet connection and redirects to a localized version. The URL to override this if you always want google.com is:
Presumably this generates a special cookie and only lasts as long as you keep cookies.

1. At the far right corner of your Firefox browser CLICK the menu icon (represented by the 3 short lines) 2. Select the PREFERENCES' 3. The PREFERENCE menu opens on the left with more choices. 4. Select CONTENT 5. Here go to languages and click choose. 6. You will be able to find you preferred language.

In order to make Firefox think you are writing in German, you need to install and activate a German Dictionary, not its Language Package.
The How do I use the Firefox spell checker? article should provide info about adding and selecting another dictionary.
thank you all so much...I reinstalled firefox from firefox.de that made it!
