Can't download emails from AT&T/Yahoo. Possible bad password file?

I suspect I have a bad password file on Thunderbird (version 52.3.0-44.1 running under Opensuse leap 42.3). Somewhere along the lines my password changed for AT&T/Yahoo mail. And in the process of updating the password something got screwed up. I have a couple other email accounts with AT&T and I can get emails into Thunderbird fine. It's just my main email account I can't. I click on the down arrow next to "Get Messages", select my main account, and nothing happens. No messages and no new emails. Not even a status bar that would indicate Thunderbird is thinking about it.

I have verified the server settings and they all look fine.

Is there a way to erase the password file and create a new one?

You can view, edit and remove individual passwords. It'd start there before going for the nuclear option of totally obliterating the password store.

Edit|Preferences|Security|Passwords->Saved Passwords

Is this IMAP or POP? If it's IMAP and all your messages are stored on the server then removing and setting up the account again in Thunderbird may be enough of a fresh start to get it working again.

It is POP. Deleted the inbound account and waiting to see what happens.

Curious as to how to do the "nuclear" option if it comes to that.

Thank you!

Well I received the message "No messages to download" and even saw a progress bar for a while or at least it was working on downloading. Nothing was downloaded and didn't see a request to enter a new password. Yet there are still message that could be downloaded according to the Yahoo/AT&T mail website.

Just an FYI, I restarted Thunderbird and got a request to enter the password. I finally got a message of "No messages to download" but the progress/status bar kept going. Still no messages downloaded and the Yahoo mail page shows plenty of messages there.
