This is a continuation of my problem but haven't gotten an answer to resolve the problem. In that time, I disabled the old Thunderbird account by setting the wrong username and server. I then created a new account in Thunderbird with all of the right server settings, user name, and server name. Well it did receive some messages but it did not delete the ones on the server. Then it stopped working. I sent a message from this new account and the message was stored in the sent folder and I can see it on the mail section on att.net and I see it on my phone. Yet, Thunderbird does not download it.

HELP!

What is your account type - POP or IMAP?

it did receive some messages but it did not delete the ones on the server.

With POP you'll need to tell Thunderbird to delete messages from the server in your account settings. Other email clients accessing the same account then won't be able to see them anymore. Therefore IMAP is the superior protocol when accessing an account from multiple clients.

I can see it on the mail section on att.net and I see it on my phone. Yet, Thunderbird does not download it.

With POP, only Inbox is visible to Thunderbird on the server. In order to be able to see sent messages from other clients, you'd need to set up your account as IMAP.

Leave messages on server setting is unchecked. Tried using IMAP but heard it doesn't work if you are using U-Verse which I am. Anyway it didn't work...

Unfortunately with U-Verse only POP is used.

Oh, and I've gotten a message that there have been too many DELE requests when I just tried it. I take it these DELE requests are delete messages from server and are done in bulk at the end of trying to get messages?
