how do I install ff56 and keep it from updating to 57 automatically?

more options

FF57 has no support for extensions I use for my business. I backed up my ff56 install before accidentally updating to ff57 so I have that profile. I deleted ff57 and reinstalled ff56.2 and disabled updates but it keeps updating to ff57. How can I stop that? How can I install my old profile in a new install of ff56? I am desperate. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Always use a portable version of a browser and you can be assured it will never update.

TIP: Chrome out performs firefox in every way.

Please see: Firefox options, preferences and settings. I suggest choosing the second option, to be informed when an update is available. Then you'll get the attached prompt which you can "snooze."
